The Value of Sets
In MM2, individual items are good, but Sets are better. A "Set" is a matching Knife and Gun (e.g., the Candy Set with Candy + Sugar, or the Corrupt Set). Sets always trade for a premium because they complete the loadout. Never break a set unless the offer is a significant overpay (10-20% above value).
Classics and Vintages
While Godlies get all the attention, Classics (like the America or Golden vintage) have a niche but wealthy market. These items are from the very early days of MM2. They are incredibly stable in value compared to volatile new Godlies. Holding Vintages is a safe way to store wealth during market crashes.
Seasonal Hype Cycles
MM2 values fluctuate wildly with seasons. During Halloween, Halloween Godlies rise in demand but drop in supply as people equip them. The best time to buy seasonal items is 3-4 months after the event when nobody cares about them. Buy cheap, hold until next year's event, and sell into the hype.
Evaluating Item Scarcity and Demand
When you evaluate a high-tier item, focus on how often it appears in active offers and how quickly it gets accepted. Listings with true scarcity usually move fast at stable numbers, while overlisted items need bigger adds to close. Track weekly demand shifts so your offers match current market behavior instead of outdated hype.
Small vs. Big Trades
When starting out, focus on Small Trades. Flipping a Seer for a slightly better Legendary is easier than flipping a Corrupt. Volume matters. Doing 10 small profitable trades a day will grow your inventory faster than waiting weeks for one massive "win." Upgrade 4 small Godlies into 1 medium Godly to consolidate value.
